Brazilian Keratin treatment questions
We at Compton hair are experts in Brazilian Keratin treatment, we offering the service since 2007 with many other straightening and hair conditioning techniques.
Below you can find answers for the most common questions asked by our customers:
What is a Compton London Brazilian Keratin Treatment?
A Brazilian Keratin Treatment is a revolutionary hair smoothing process that softens, smoothes, and dramatically restores the health and add shine back into your hair. A Brazilian Keratin treatment employs the use of Keratin, a natural substance, which is in fact, the main protective substance in our hair, skin and nails. The treatment effectively bonds the keratin to the hair shaft, repairs external damage and ensures a healthy, high-gloss shine.
Is the Brazilian Keratin Treatment permanent?
No, it is not permanent. The treatment lasts approximately 2-5 months after which the hair is completely back to its original state.
What type of hair works best for Brazilian Keratin Treatment?
Our proprietary keratin based formula works on all hair types. This professional treatment creates a keratin bond with the hair follicle that actually works to improve the health and shine of your hair.
Is the Brazilian Keratin Treatment a relaxer?
No, this treatment is not a chemical relaxer.
How straight will Brazilian Keratin Treatment make my hair and will I lose all of my curl?
The Brazilian Keratin treatment is not designed to make your hair completely straight or to eliminate all of your curl. You will see a substantial reduction in the amount of your curl, but your hair will maintain a healthy looking amount of volume while completely eliminating frizz.
Can you perform the Brazilian Keratin treatment after coloring my hair?
Yes, this treatment should be performed AFTER coloring your hair.
Can I color the hair after my Brazilian Keratin treatment?
Yes; but is recommeneded to colour your hair pre your Brazilian Blow Dry.
Can I wear my hair in a pony tail or clip it after the treatment?
Yes, you can wear your hair as you normally would after the treatment.
Can I perform the Brazilian Keratin treatment on previously chemically treated or highlighted hair?
Yes, Brazilian Keratin can be applied on any chemically treated or highlighted hair, as long as the scalp and hair are healthy enough to receive professional salon services.
What shampoos should I use after my Brazilian Keratin treatment?
We recommend the Brazilian GlossTM Daily Glossing Shampoo as it is specifically formulated for use after our treatment. The Brazilian Gloss shampoo's and conditioners are specially made to extend the life of a Brazilian Gloss treatment and help to make your hair shiny, smooth and full of shine. The aftercare products are also free of any sodium chloride and are sulfate free.
Should I use Brazilian Keratin shampoos and conditioners even though I have not had a treatment done?
The Brazilian Keratin aftercare products are exceptional for eliminting frizz and are recommended for anyone that wants soft and shiny hair, regardless of whether they have had the professional salon treatment done.
Can you perform the Brazilian Keratin treatment on hair that has been previously straightened or relaxed hair?
Yes, the treatment can be performed on any previously relaxed or straightened hair (including Japanese straightening systems).
Are there any restrictions on washing my hair after the treatment?
No, there are no restrictions, and unlike other treatments there are no waiting periods on washing your hair. In fact, your stylist might rinse and condition your hair before finishing your treatment.
On my next salon visit, should I do touch-ups on my re-growth, or should I have the whole head redone?
For a uniform appearance, the entire head should be re-treated.

Shellac nail London, Compton Covent Garden
Shellac nail is avaiable In Compton Covent Garden for over a year, there are still many questions we receive, below we try to explain about Shellac manicure, and Shellac pedicure's
1: What is Shellac manicire, and Shellac pedicure?
Shellac nails is a breakthrough, patent-pending UV3 technology that combines the ease of polish with the permanence of gels. No other products in the market can stand up to the claim – on like polish, wears like gel, off in minutes.
2: What can I expect from my Shellac service?
Shellac manicure starts off with a file and shape to prepare your nails for the treatment. Your nails will then be painted and cured with a base coat, two layers of your prefered colour and finally a top coat. Once finished you are ready to show off new nails.
3: Is the Shellac formula “3-Free”?
The service price for Shellac London will vary depending on the price structure & profile of the salon. Salons in most markets will position Shellac as an upgrade to existing services, charging at least 50% more.
4: Is Shellac nail hypo-allergenic?
Yes, a low level of photo-initiators are utilized in Shellac. Photo-initiators can lead to sensitivity with some clients.
5: Is there any odor to Shellac manicure?
A slight odor may be noticeable upon application but not as strong as nail polish. After curing in the lamp, residual odor does not remain.
6: Does Shellac removal damage the natural nail?
No. Shellac nail varnish was developed and tested for years to perfect every aspect of the Shellac process, including removal.
7: Will Shellac manicure and Shellac pedicure last longer than 14 days?
Yes, however you will notice a “line of demarcation” as your natural nail grows away from the cuticle. It is recommended that you adhere to a 14 day re-application appointment, as the adhesion will increase if worn past this point, making the removal process a little more lengthy.
8: Will soaps or other personal grooming products affect the wearability of Shellac nails?
No. Shellac was developed and tested to withstand the rigors of daily wear. Are there any negative side effects of the frequency of removal with Shellac?
9: Can Shellac nail varnish be used over my enhancements (Liquid & Powder and Gel)?
No, not as long as the system is being used correctly.
10: Can I remove my own Shellac nail varnish?
No. To ensure the health of the natural nail, Shellac is a professional only service and only trained Nail Professionals should apply & remove Shellac.
