Question: Dear Expert,I am enquiring about your Brazilian hair straightening. I would love to have it done but live on the coast in West Sussex. Are there any other salons that would do this method for me or will I have to come up to London?
Thanks Sandy Smith
Answer:
I'm sorry I don't have information on other salons performing this service. It is quite new to this country so may only be in London so far. Also sorry for the late response to your message we have been moving offices.
We do complimentary consultations for this treatment, but it is not necessary if you wish to just go ahead and book an appointment. It is proving extremely popular. It will smooth, condition and repair your hair, make it much more manageable and quicker and easier to style.
Our salon and this treatment were just featured in Glamour Magazine so we have been super busy. Should you wish to make an appointment please call 08445 090 999 and press 1 for Covent Garden or 2 for Barbican.
Many thanks

Question: Dear Expert, I have long hair, its got split ends...and is thinning. I had lived in India for almost 3 wholes years, which has damaged my hair. My hair quality isnt as fine as it use to be. I need a whole new hair cut so that I am able to re-grow my hair.

Hi Tina
I recommend you come into the salon for a full makeover consultation. In Compton we also have a large range of conditioning treatments. Some you can only have done in the salon but others you can use at home.As a quick fix Kerastase have beautiful instant rituals that can be applied in the salon to instantly add shine and condition.
We look forward to seeing you.
Question: Dear Expert,
I have had rebonding done last week in Mauritius and it was a total failure my hair after the first wash (after about a week) came out wavy and weirdly shaped and quite dry. I am thinking of traveling to london soon and am wondering whether anything can be done or whether it is just all ruined. I would be very grateful for help and advice! The process that was used last week was the following:
1) serum was applied to my hair to protect it then it was washed then product was applied on my wet wavy hair then it was washed again then more product was applied then my hair was straightened with a straightener after which it was washed again and blow dried. The salon I went to doesnt know what went wrong. What can be done?
Answer:
Hi Virgina
It sounds like either the processing time was not long enough or the ironing was done incorrectly. How ever without seeing your hair it is hard to give you an accurate answer. I sugest when you come to London you pop in for a free consultation and I can tell you whether or not we can redo the Straightening.
We look forward to seeing you.
Question: Dear Expert,
I would like to permenantly straighten my hair
can u kindly suggest the treatement and the cost?
Regards,
Jan
Answer:
Hi Jan
The best sugestion is that you come into the salon for a free Straightening consultation as we do have many different types of straightening systems and they all vary in price.
The consutation will allow us to see your hair and suggest the best system for you. We will also do a skin test to make sure you can have the system done.
Please call reception on 0207 240 3240 to book your consultation

Question: Dear Expert, I have very recently highlighted my hair and not very well I might add. It is very yellow and I have done way too much. My question is can I put a colour over highlights? I cannot afford a salon but cannot live with yellow hair either. Please help.
Answer:
Dear Kellie,
Firstly I would like to thank you for your question. It is a tricky one. We would really need to see your hair to advise you properly, however the best thing would be if you put a toner over your hair that would change the colour of your highlights but it wouldn't change your natural hair colour. You can use a semi permanent colour as a toner, look out for professional products. Do not leave the colour on for long time and keep on checking it. Do not hesiate to call us if you need more help on 02072403240. Regards, Zoltan
Question: Name: Julia Email address: i Phone: Sex: My hair is: My question is: Dear Loretta
since i returned from my holidays my hair is very dry and the ends are split, i am using my regular shampoo for dry hair every couple of days, but it does not seem to change. do you have any further advice.
Answer:
Dear Julia
Hope you had a great Holiday. Dry weather, the sun and swimming in the pool does strip the hair of its moisture. Shampooing frequently can also lead to dry hair and split ends, so I would advise to Shampoo minimally. Though it has become fashionable to shampoo daily, it is not advisable to do so. Shampoo strips the hair of its natural oils and thus gives it a dry, limp appearance. Alternatively, choose the shampoo for the dry, damaged hair. We particularly like Modern Organic Products Extreme Moisture Shampoo, which has worked well this late summer and autumn with some of our clients who have had a lovely warm holiday but at the expense of their hair condition. Note, there are also sun protective products on the market, which can considerably reduce this problem while you are away.
It is beneficial to also condition your hair now as well: Dry hair can be benefited greatly by the use of conditioners after shampooing. The outer layers of the hair or cuticles peel away the shaft, resulting in split ends. Conditioner glues these cuticles back to the shaft and also lubricates them. MOP also have a complimentary conditioner to the Extreme Moisture Shampoo, which may be just what you require.
